KAIPAMANGALAM: Robbery case accused, a native of Mathilakam, has been booked under KAAPA (Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act) and sent to jail. Ali Ashkar (26) of Vattaparambi, Ponnampadi Colony, Mathilakam, a notorious gangster and an accused in a robbery case, was sent to jail under the KAAPA charge. The police said that he is the main accused in the case of abducting a Poonkunnam resident through honey trap and robbing him. KAAPA was filed against him while he was out on bail in this case.
Haseeb, a native of Kaipamangalam, and Oolakal Siddique, a native of Mathilakam, who were accused in the robbery case, were charged with KAAPA and sent to jail. The police said that he is accused in the case of theft of 115 kg of Areca nut from an Areca nut shop in Vadanappally in 2022, in the case of theft of a bike in Chalakudy in 2022, and in the case of attacking a middle-aged man in Thrissur Sakthan Nagar and robbing two sovereigns of gold jewellery. Mathilakam Police Inspector MK Shaji, SI Ramya Karthikeyan and ASIs Vincy and Thomas conducted the investigation.
